The Challenge
The original kitchen was a dark, dated relic of the past, overwhelmed by heavy, old-growth wood cabinets that made the room feel small and suffocating. The countertops were made of inferior, worn-out materials that lacked both durability and style. This “wood-on-wood” heaviness absorbed all natural light, resulting in a space that felt congested and aesthetically obsolete. The client needed a complete structural and visual upgrade that prioritized high-quality millwork and high-impact surfaces.
Our Solution
Our primary objective was to replace the dated heaviness with bespoke, high-performance cabinetry and statement-piece countertops. We installed a full suite of designer Shaker cabinets in a crisp, satin white finish, instantly expanding the room’s sense of scale. These cabinets were engineered with precision, featuring soft-close technology and maximized storage capacity to eliminate clutter.
To anchor the design, we curated a monumental peninsula with premium natural stone. We selected a slab with dramatic, flowing veins in earthy taupe and sand tones, serving as the room’s primary art piece. The stone was expertly fabricated with clean, polished edges to highlight its organic movement. By pairing our signature white cabinetry with this bold, high-movement countertop, we created a high-contrast environment that is as durable as it is beautiful.
